Vandana Shiva on Seeds and Open Source Software

September 8, 2009 · Filed Under Getting Political

If you’re a gardener who appreciates the nature of OP or Heirloom seeds, and are frustrated with the computer operating system or other software you use, you’ll find most of the same advantages in open source software you find in OP seeds; low or no cost, friendly people to help you get it to work, free and easy solutions to common problems, and so on.

Some examples of open source software are Linux and WordPress, and there are many others.

Likewise, if you use open source software and are starting a vegetable garden, consider the advantages of OP seeds!

If you have any questions about any of this please let me know and I’ll try to answer them. Don’t be afraid of searching the Internet either, as there’s lots of information on these things available.

Impressive. I like this lady! Ya know Patrick, whenever someone says they are willing to answer questions, I typically like to quip back with, “What is the meaning of life?”. However, considering that question in this context, I think I must say that Ms. Shiva answered that question quite well. Knowledge. Knowledge is life. Transferring knowledge to the next generation is the perpetuation of life. Wow. And with that said, it is time for me to leave the computer and go to pass on knowledge to my sons. Talk about being blessed! This really makes my day! THANK YOU! =o)
