Hi 楽訳中国語,

Thanks for the comment! It's nice to hear from someone else who likes languages. Your website looks interesting, something about Japanese and Chinese.

I feel more comfortable with latin names because I can find the right informations and the names of the plants in different languages.

This is something I was learn some years before, when I study about Greek wild flora and fauna.

It's sad but in greek vegetable seeds I buy they don't have the latin names.

Well, if you want to learn how to read and pronounce Latin using Classical restored Pronunciation, then listening to a few of the recordings on the Latinum Podcast will be helpful.
You never know, you might even get the bug, and start to learn Latin. That will surprise your plants when you next talk to them!

There are four main species of garden pumpkins and squashes: Cucurbita pepo, Cucurbita moschata, Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita mixta. These USUALLY don't cross with each other, and can be grown side by side.

Usually is the key word here, this year I am growing a suspected cross between maxima and pepo species...
